Gemma Atkinson has been accused of inventing her romance with footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro has claimed that the Man United star has never been involved in a relationship with the former Hollyoaks actress.

“He doesn’t have a girlfriend,” Dolores insisted. “I put my hands in the fire as he did not go with the girl people say is his girlfriend. I don’t know her and don’t care if she’s beautiful.”

Atkinson announced that she was Ronaldo’s girlfriend in January but he has not confirmed the romance and they have never been pictured together.

A friend of Gemma’s told The Sun: “Ronaldo’s mother is probably just being protective. I’ve seen the texts they send and they’re definitely boyfriend and girlfriend. Gemma’s a down-to-earth lass and not interested in him as a publicity stunt.”

According to Sharapova, she and Ronaldo would make “one hot team”… time to learn some tennis Ronnie.

Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has won all the personal awards of English football this season, but Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has the last laugh scoring the only goal in the FA Cup final… and thus, Chelsea is the English FA Cup champion.

Drogba scored the goal 5 minutes before the end of 120 minutes (extra time) after a clever one-two with Frank Lampard. Rio Ferdinand and Edwin Van der Sar could be blamed for slow responses, but it was a great goal nonetheless.

This is not a classic game; the 1st half was so boring that I would rather see some old lady singing on the other TV channel. The 2nd half was slightly better, with Wayne Rooney making some bullish run, and Arjen Robben doing some trickery at the other end.

Ronaldo had a quiet game by his standard; he only had a couple of half chances in 90 minutes, and his contribution in the extra time was not significant as well.

United seemed more aggressive in extra time, and came close twice from Ryan Giggs and Rooney… but Petr Cech was there to the rescue.

In the end Drogba scored the winner, and it proved to be Chelsea’s day. A boring game, but Chelsea won it fair and square… congrats to the Blues.

Ronaldo’s girlfriend Gemma Atkinson will be cheering on Manchester United at home after giving up two tickets to the FA Cup Final.

A ’special friend’ gave the blonde actress 2 tickets for the match between the Premiership champions and Chelsea at the new Wembley Stadium, but the 22-year-old chose to pass the tickets to her parents who are life-long United fans.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has told Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo to cut out the diving ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final.

Double footballer of the year Ronaldo has been in sparkling form this season but has been criticised by some for going to ground too easily.

And Mourinho said: ‘Ronaldo is a big player. But if he wants to be a bigger one, he must be fair with his opponents.

‘The final should be played with happiness. I’ll be disappointed if some players are diving and trying to get the opposition red cards on Saturday.

‘I don’t want to see any provocation.

‘It will be sad if it is not a good and fair event - with good winners and proud losers.’
