Henrik Larsson bids farewell to Old Trafford with the only goal of the match, which send Manchester United into the quarter-finals of UEFA Champions League.
Larsson headed in a marvellous cross from Cristiano Ronaldo on the 71st minute. The Swede earned a standing ovation for his short but impressive 10-weeks loan stint with Manchester United.
With the controversial Giggs’ goal and crowd trouble in the first leg in France; the Old Trafford game wasn’t as tensioned as many had thought would be. Players from both sides played with great maturity, and played some nice football.
The United goal was a fast counter attack. Nemanja Vidic with the clearance, Larsson chipped the ball to Paul Scholes, who found Ronaldo in the surging run; and the Portuguese winger outpaced 2 defenders before whipping in a good cross for Larsson to head into the net.
