Cristiano Ronaldo shrugged off early injury scare and played for the whole game against Serbia, but could only help Portugal to a 1-1 draw in their Euro 2008 qualifying match.
Former Chelsea player Tiago opened the scoreline for Portugal early on the 5th minute, and Bosko Jankovic equalized on 37th minute.
Both side missed series of chances, but 1-1 seems like a fair result for both teams. Portugal perhaps shared a bit more possessions and attack, but Serbia’s goalie Vladimir Stojkovic was in great form.
Ronaldo had a quiet game; his most memorable effort was a freekick on 75th minute, but Stojkovic did well to parry it.
A cute video from Nike, featuring soccer stars from Brazil and Portugal, and a few others.

Real Madrid will try to sign Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo and AC Milan midfielder Kaka for next season, club president Ramon Calderon has said again.
“We really like him (Cristiano Ronaldo) but he belongs to Manchester United and they have to decide to sell him first,” Calderon told Spanish television station Antena 3 in an interview.
“If that is the case then we’ll be first in the queue, although we won’t be paying 80 million euros ($106.2 million) for him.
“I don’t think any player, even someone with Cristiano Ronaldo’s quality, is worth that money, but we are definitely interested if Manchester United want to sell him.”
Calderon also said he would renew his bid to sign Brazilian midfielder Kaka from AC Milan, something he had pledged to do during last year’s presidential election campaign.

Cristiano Ronaldo is doubtful for Portugal’s Euro 2008 Group A qualifier in Serbia on Wednesday after injuring his left heel in training.
“At this time we don’t know if he (Ronaldo) will play,” team spokesman Onofre Costa told reporters on Tuesday. “He sprained his heel.
“It doesn’t look very serious but we are not sure if he will be fit.”

Hope he’s ok. Both Portugal and Manchester United can’t afford to lose him at the moment.
Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he wants to stay Manchester United “for many years”. Speaking after his two goals eased Portugal to a 4-0 victory over Belgium: “Am I the best in the world? I have been improving my game and I’m in a great shape this year. I feel mature. The Manchester United players are by my side and I also have a great help in the national team. But of course I believe I am one of the best.
“I have a good contract in financial terms and what really matters to me is to show my game. It’s a good sign to know that I have so many clubs interested in me, but I’m very happy where I am and I hope to stay in Manchester United for many years.”

Former United captain Roy Keane has labelled former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo ‘different class’ after his scintillating form this season.
Keane, now manager at Sunderland, has been taken aback by the 22-year-old’s sensational impact on United’s three-pronged assault for silverware.
Ex-skipper Keane told The Sunday Mirror: “I think Ronaldo is outstanding. If you had asked me two or three years ago I would have told you he could go on to be the best player in the world.
“I thought that would happen after he had been playing over a longer period of time, but his form this season has been a different class.”
“The skills Ronaldo has are frightening,” said Keane. “He is an entertainer and fans at United love that. It’s great to see and they are the type of players you would pay to watch.”
