Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo believes Didier Drogba is mistaken if he thinks he has the Footballer of the Year award in the bag.

Chelsea’s Ivory Coast ace, who has 13 Premiership goals to his name, recently stated his impressive form this term makes him the prime candidate for the gong.

A Spanish newspaper reports that Real Madrid have made a 40 million Euros (~US$67 million) offer for Cristiano Ronaldo but it’s believe that Manchester United will not consider any offer below 70 million Euros.

Honest I doubt Sir Alex Ferguson will consider a move for Ronaldo even if he’s offered 70 million Euros at the moment; United are on track to claim the Premiership title that they haven’t been touching for 3 seasons, and Ronaldo is so crucial for them that he probably worth more than 70 million.

Barcelona could have signed Cristiano Ronaldo for £12m last summer, but they turned down the offer as they were planning to get Thierry Henry instead.

Speaking to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes said that he offered the Portugal international to the Spanish champion before the World Cup, but was rejected.

Barcelona in the end failed to lure Henry, and Mendes insists they will not get another chance to land his in-form client. He said: “At this time it is impossible that he can go to Barcelona because Manchester would never let him leave, not for all the money in the world.”
